As a publisher you sell the traffic from your sites. Advertisers bid for each impression, and you earn from every impression that is sold. Traffic nobody buys can be sent back to a URL of your choice, so you don't lose it.
Switch the sidebar to Publisher to see the publisher tools.
The pieces
- My domains — the sites you sell from. Each one must be verified and approved before its traffic is bought. See Add and verify your domains.
- Sell orders — a sell order is one ad placement: the format, your price floor, where unsold traffic goes, and format settings. See Create a sell order.
- The code — each sell order gives you a script to put on your pages. See Install the code.
Formats
| Format | What your visitors see |
|---|---|
| Popunder / Popup | An advertiser's page opens in a new window when the visitor clicks on your page |
| Sticky banner | A banner in a corner of your page |
| Banners | Standard display banners. Coming soon |
Sell order statuses
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| active | Selling. New sell orders are active as soon as you create them |
| pending | Not selling yet. If an order stays pending, contact your account manager |
| suspended | Stopped by TrafficOX. Contact your account manager |
A sell order only earns on traffic from your approved domains. Traffic from a domain that isn't approved, or isn't in your account, goes to your fallback URL.
What happens to unsold traffic
When no advertiser buys an impression, the visitor can be sent to your fallback URL (also called trafficback). Your statistics count this as Returned traffic.
